Introduction

Hello, my name is Ryan. I am returning to school to get my MA/TCP in secondary education with an emphasis in Chemistry. I am coming off of a multi-year stint as a professional wanderer and learner of way too much retail product knowledge. I was born and raised in Colorado and miss the mountains every day. I attended public school up until 5th grade and then attended a private middle school and high school. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to attend the schools I did because I met some of the most amazing teachers I could imagine. I had my share of poor teachers and the noticeable differences between the two are a major reason I want to go into teaching. I attended college at the University of San Diego where I majored in Chemistry and worked for four years as an outdoor guide and teambuilding facilitator. My love of the outdoors and sharing that love with other people is when I first considered teaching as a profession. After graduating from school I decided that I didn't want to go into laboratory science and would rather travel around the country. Since then I have lived in or visited close to 40 of the 50 states before finally arriving at the realization that I could combine my love of sharing knowledge with my dorky love of chemistry by becoming a high school science teacher.
